CFP Energy
With 18+ years of experience in energy trading, risk management, sales strategy leadership and team management, Amy will support the continued growth of CFP Energy across the UK, Europe and beyond.
Her previous roles as Managing Director at Global Risk Management, and Senior Commodity Flow Desk Associate at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH, demonstrate a strong track record of driving growth and innovation in the energy sector.
On joining CFP Energy, Amy commented:
“CFP Energy is at the forefront of the net zero transition, providing an unrivalled offering to businesses across Europe and even further afield. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join the business as there are ambitious growth plans in place for the short and long-term future.”
She continued:
“It’s clear that businesses require support to navigate the net zero transition. To decarbonise while staying commercially competitive, as environmental / energy regulations are changing so rapidly, is a major challenge. But CFP Energy has a strong track record of delivering change for some of the world’s largest organisations, so I’m looking forward to driving further transformational change for new and existing clients."
Catherine Newman, Chief Operating Officer for CFP Energy, said:
“We’re thrilled to have Amy on board and CFP Energy will benefit from her energy and experience in driving growth and innovation. Our goal is to become the leading provider of energy transition services in Europe and we’re confident that Amy will play a pivotal role in achieving that target.”

On Wednesday 12th June, the UK government released the UK ETS verified emissions data for the 2024 compliance year. At 85.6 million tonnes CO2e (tCO2e), total covered emissions fell by 11.5% year-on-year, continuing a downward trend that began in 2022, after delayed demand destruction in response to the 2020 and 2021 pandemic years.
As part of the "Common Understanding" announced on 19th May following the UK-EU Summit, and after months of speculation, agreement was reached on working towards linking both emissions trading schemes.
